About The Position

Tree of Life Canada ULC is seeking a Receiver to join their team. This role is responsible for receiving merchandise and materials, handling, unpacking, and documenting goods. Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a warehouse/logistics environment.
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written) and fluent in English.
  • Previous experience operating powered industrial equipment (i.e., forklift, power jacks).
  • Proficiency in MS Office required.
  • Excellent customer service-oriented attitude with ability to get along with diverse personalities and communicate effectively with customers and all levels of Tree of Life associates.
  • Must be tactful, mature, and flexible with good reasoning abilities and sound judgement.
  • High energy level with the ability to establish creditability and be decisive but be able to recognize and support the organization’s preferences and priorities.
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
  • Must be able to carry, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • SAP experience preferred.
  • Computer skills in SAP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Receive merchandise and materials from outside vendors.
  • Handle, unpack, or uncrate merchandise or materials for routing to, or storage in, the proper department.
  • Document damaged goods and/or shortages/overages.
  • Support and participate in food safety programs including SQF (Safe Quality Food).
  • Keep records of incoming goods, check bills of lading or purchase orders on incoming shipments.
  • Sign for and verify shipment accuracy against purchase orders, making appropriate adjustments for over/short, damaged product, or change in size, and notify department manager of discrepancies.
  • Check product for quality, freshness, damage, proper size, expiration code date or "sell by" dates.
  • Unload trucks and break down pallets that do not immediately fit in allotted reserve storage spots.
  • Select orders for special store orders (i.e., add-ons), and stock product as needed.
  • Pull product returned from stores off trailers and stage for check-in process.
  • Spot check/scan the UPC (inner/outer) verification according to AS400 & SAP.
  • Spot check the Nutrition to ensure it is bilingual.
  • Document the freight temperature to ensure the integrity of the inbound shipment.
  • Inspect the cleanliness of the trailer for any infestation.
  • Correctly inspect and maintain power equipment.
  • Maintain good attendance and safe work practices.
  • Maintain safeguards of confidential company information.
  • Other duties and special projects as requested.
  • Other sundry duties as assigned.
