About The Position

The Receiver is responsible for the safe operation of forklifts and ensuring that produce and dairy products being delivered to Keany Produce are received from its suppliers and stored in the proper manner within warehouse areas. This role involves handling forklifts safely and consistently, following user guidelines and warehouse safety regulations. The Receiver will ensure proper warehouse storage of produce items for effective inventory management, prioritizing the use of the oldest inventory first. Maintaining a clean warehouse environment and safely storing products are key aspects of this position. Additionally, the Receiver will input data for received items to update inventory levels, transfer inventory to other departments, properly dispose of damaged products, and pull produce and dairy products for specific government orders. Responsibilities also include cleaning the warehouse area, such as sweeping and removing boxes.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1 - 2 years direct receiving experience
  • Experience operating a forklift, preferably in the produce industry
  • Knowledge of warehouse receiving and storage processes and procedures
  • Knowledge of product types and ability to make judgments on product quality
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment
  • Good organizational skills
  • Able to drive a stand-up forklift truck
  • Able to lift and load cases onto warehouse shelves properly and safely
  • Ability to read put-away reports and match with slot location and case product description
