About The Position

The Receiver is responsible for the receiving, storage and distribution of raw and packaging materials. This role involves understanding machine operations, monitoring equipment, ensuring proper settings, and adhering to food safety standards. The position requires physical capability for lifting and standing for extended periods, and the ability to work variable hours. The company is a growing, privately owned corporation with a long history of delivering high-quality baked and frozen food products.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Able to use computer and job related software (i.e. MS Office, SAP) as well as various office equipment as needed to perform job functions.
Basic literacy skills including ability to read and comprehend instructions, procedures, signage, warnings and understand basic math.
Ability to communicate clearly using oral and written skills.
Understand and apply food safety policies, HACCP principles, Good Manufacturing Practices and Personal Safety practices as they apply to the job function.
Physically capable of lifting and moving items weighing up to 65 pounds.
Physically capable of lifting trays of product weighing an average of 11 pounds frequently.
Physically able to bend, reach, stoop, push and pull as required in a production operation.
Physically capable of standing for long periods of time.
Physically capable of normal range of motion in all extremities.
Physically capable of working in intense heat conditions.
Work variable hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
Report to, begin and depart from work at scheduled times.

Responsibilities

Receiving, storage, and distribution of raw and packaging materials.
Operating the bulk cream yeast control panel, cream yeast CIP control panel, and a forklift.
Understanding the location of all pertinent alarms, emergency stops, and call buttons.
Properly storing raw and packaging materials.
Delivering raw and packaging materials to production areas as needed.
Ensuring raw and packaging material storage racks are properly stocked.
Emptying waste modules as needed and at the end of the shift.
Cleaning spills immediately.
Maintaining work area for cleanliness.
Monitoring bulk storage tank levels (flour, sugar, oil, cream yeast).
Ensuring receipt of raw and packaging materials from approved suppliers.
Recording lot numbers of raw and packaging materials correctly.
Inspecting trailers and tankers for possible contamination issues, cleanliness, odors, and infestations.
Ensuring correct and legible recording of the condition of trailers and tankers, as well as carrier information.
Ensuring the proper seals are documented with each delivery and that seal numbers match those on the Bill of Lading.
Ensuring timely and correct completion of receiver tickets for inventory.
Ensuring incoming COA, COC, or statement of conformance accompanies each delivery.
Ensuring raw and packaging materials conform to facility specifications.
Verifying driver identification for each delivery.
Properly monitoring food safety control points (seal numbers, condition of hoses, condition of strainer, etc.).
Ensuring proper re-palletization and cleaning of pallets of raw and packaging materials.
Ensuring proper rotation of raw and packaging ingredients – First In-First Out (FIFO) and First Expired-First Out (FEFO).
Notifying Production management of issues with company specifications or issues with a delivery.
Ensuring proper settings of the bulk cream yeast control panel and the cream yeast CIP control panel.
