Receiver- Traver Feed Mill - Belgravia Complex
About The Position
The Receiver position at the Traver Feed Mill - Belgravia Complex is responsible for unloading various types of transport (rail cars, hopper bottom, and walking floor trailers) and ensuring the product is directed to the correct holding bins. This role involves taking samples for quality assurance, managing inventories for production needs, and operating the transfer system and corn grinding systems. The position also includes performing routine inspections of receiving and grinding systems, identifying and correcting equipment failures to minimize downtime, and overseeing housekeeping procedures to meet OSHA requirements and control dust levels. Accurate record-keeping for receiving and housekeeping is essential. The role also requires coordinating with the Operations Supervisor regarding rail car releases and performing other assigned duties.
Requirements
- Must be able to work flexible, rotating hours/shifts, including weekends.
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to learn new concepts and procedures quickly.
- Must have good interpersonal and communication (both verbal and written; i.e., able to read and understand written instructions) skills.
- Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Must be able to move up to 100 pounds.

- Knowledge of computers is desirable.
Responsibilities
- Unload rail cars, hopper bottom, and walking floor trailers.
- Ensure product is put into the correct holding bins.
- Take samples for quality assurance.
- Take inventories for Production needs.
- Operate the transfer system and the whole corn grinding systems.
- Perform routine inspections of all receiving and grinding systems.
- Detect and correct equipment failures and plugs quickly to minimize down time.
- Perform and oversee receiving housekeeping procedures to meet OSHA requirements and maintain dust to a minimum level.
- Keep housekeeping records documented.
- Keep accurate receiving records of the rail cars and trucks.
- Coordinate with Operations Supervisor to release cars to the railroad when empty.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Benefits
- Additional $1.00 per hour for hours worked between 7:00pm and 11:59pm.
- Additional $2.00 per hour for hours worked between 12:00am-4:59am.
