About The Position
As a Receiver/Stocker at Lowe’s, you help keep the store clean, safe, and ready for customers by accurately receiving freight, stocking shelves, and organizing merchandise and top stock. The role includes unloading deliveries, handling equipment and hazardous materials safely, and preparing the work area for daily operations. It is physical and fast-paced, with most of the shift spent on your feet. Scheduling may include morning, afternoon, evening, or overnight hours depending on store needs. Associates are also expected to assist customers and teammates with a friendly, professional attitude. The work includes unloading freight, moving products to the sales floor, maintaining organized backrooms, verifying deliveries, completing dock preparation, and operating store equipment. Associates may help customers locate or load products. At Pro Fulfillment Stores, responsibilities also include picking and staging flatbed delivery orders, loading orders safely and accurately, rotating orders by delivery date, resolving order issues, communicating with customers, and following Delivery Readiness practices. Working conditions vary by location and may include indoor and outdoor work in extreme heat or cold, wet, damp, humid, windy, or drafty conditions. Associates may experience constant or intermittent noise and moving or shaking equipment. Single lifts are limited to 75 pounds; team lifts are used minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed. Powered equipment should be used as required, with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker. Regular travel is not required, though occasional travel may be needed for meetings, training, or support at nearby stores.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED, or equivalent years of experience in lieu of the education requirement, if applicable.
Nice To Haves
- Three months of experience operating a forklift or power equipment such as lifts and order pickers.
- Six months of experience in a warehouse performing inventory handling and stocking.
- Bilingual, military, and veteran applicants are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Deliver SMART customer service by assisting customers, answering questions, and offering project support.
- Stock merchandise by unloading freight, down-stocking, organizing shelves, and setting up pallets.
- Support store operations by verifying deliveries, completing dock preparation, and using equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts.
- Maintain a safe, clean environment by following procedures for hazardous materials, equipment use, and housekeeping.
- Operate store equipment, including scanners, Zebra phones, balers, and other tools as needed.
- Work as a team player and complete other assigned tasks.
- At Pro Fulfillment Stores, use the Orders App to pick and stage Flatbed Delivery orders.
- At Pro Fulfillment Stores, load delivery orders while ensuring quality, accuracy, and safe loading practices.
- At Pro Fulfillment Stores, rotate orders by delivery date and resolve customer order issues.
- At Pro Fulfillment Stores, proactively communicate with customers to ensure delivery satisfaction.
- At Pro Fulfillment Stores, execute Delivery Readiness best practices.
