About The Position
Conval, Inc., a leading manufacturer of severe service industrial valves, is hiring a Receiver/Shipper to join our Production Control team. In this role, you'll play a key part in keeping our shipping and receiving operations accurate, efficient, and on schedule — handling everything from incoming materials to outgoing shipments across multiple carriers.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; 1–3 months of related experience/training, or an equivalent combination
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Solid organizational and decision-making skills
- Computer literacy
- Familiarity with order processing systems, shipping software, and MRP systems a plus
- Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift/move up to 25 lbs. regularly and up to 100 lbs. frequently
Responsibilities
- Count, weigh, and inspect incoming materials and supplies; enter receiving data into the computer system
- Load, unload, and receive crates, parts, and raw materials from carriers
- Mark and tag containers for accurate storage identification (PO numbers, sales order numbers, etc.)
- Inspect materials for damage and notify Supervisors/Purchasing as needed
- Package and ship product using current instructions from Supervisors, Sales, and Management
- Build skids, crates, and cardboard cartons
- Operate pallet jacks, forklifts, hoists, and cranes, as well as pneumatic and hand tools
- Maintain accurate daily shipment records and an organized, safe work area
- Participate in cycle counts and assist with parts receiving/issuing
- Use UPS shipping software to generate labels, tags, and packing lists
