About The Position

This role involves moving freight, stocking materials, and sorting cargo. The Receiver II will be responsible for loading and unloading delivery vehicles and containers, stacking cargo, and attaching identifying tags. They will also maintain production records, read work orders, and install protective devices to prevent damage during transport. A key aspect of this role is adhering to mandatory procedures for environmental and personal safety, identifying quality issues, and performing accurate system transactions. The position requires the ability to read extrusion labels and identify various materials. Safely operating an overhead crane for loading and unloading extrusion racks is also a primary duty.

Requirements

  • Experienced forklift operator
  • Material handling and/or Warehouse experience preferred
  • Constant standing up to 10-12 hours a day or sitting up to 10-12 hours a day while operating forklift.
  • Frequent bending/stooping/squatting/walking.
  • Frequent reaching overhead when handling material.
  • Frequent reaching/pushing/pulling up to 100 pounds.
  • Frequent pushing with minimal or maximum force to maneuver the material.
  • Frequent carrying and lifting up to 90 lbs.
  • Frequent repetitive hand/foot/head/neck movements required.
  • Temperatures will vary.
  • Dusty and noisy environment when operating machines and tools.
  • Steel toe safety shoes, ear and eye protection required.

Responsibilities

  • Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, or containers, by hand or other equipment.
  • Sort cargo before loading and unloading.
  • Stack cargo in locations such as transit sheds or in holds of trucks as directed, using pallets or cargo boards.
  • Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information.
  • Record numbers of units handled or moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets.
  • Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.
  • Install protective devices, such as bracing, padding, or strapping, to prevent shifting or damage to items being transported.
  • Follow a range of mandatory procedures and methods of work (including use of personal protection equipment where relevant) to safeguard the environment and the wellbeing of oneself and others.
  • Identify incoming quality issues and notify correct parties for resolution.
  • Perform accurate system transactions with a hand-held scanner or at computer terminal with a 100% accuracy.
  • Read and interpret extrusion labels.
  • Identify extrusions, glass and other materials that are in their assigned areas.
  • Safely load and unload extrusion racks with an overhead crane and perform necessary system transactions accurately.
