As an RECE Full Day Educator at Umbrella Family Centres, you will play an important role in supporting children and families each day by creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment. Working alongside a collaborative team, you will plan, implement, and document engaging, play-based learning experiences that reflect children’s interests and developmental needs. You will support daily routines and well-being, actively supervise indoor and outdoor activities, and build positive relationships through open communication with families and colleagues.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE)
  • Good standing with the College of ECE
  • Demonstrated ability to guide, support, and build positive relationships with children requiring behavioural guidance, using responsive and inclusive strategies.
  • Strong knowledge and application of How Does Learning Happen? to foster environments that support belonging, well-being, engagement, and expression.
  • Proven experience in planning, implementing, and documenting developmentally appropriate full-day programs for infant, toddler and preschool-aged children
  • Excellent problem-solving, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and engage families in their child’s learning.
  • Standard First Aid with CPR Level C
  • Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check

Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, and document developmentally appropriate activities that promote children’s cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development in alignment with How Does Learning Happen?
  • Ensure the health, safety, supervision, and overall well-being of children at all times, following CCEYA requirements and Umbrella policies and procedures.
  • Create and maintain an engaging, inclusive, and welcoming learning environment that supports exploration, belonging, and positive relationships with children and their families.
  • Collaborate with team members to support consistent daily routines, positive behaviour guidance, and smooth program operations.
