About The Position

The Rebuild Shop Foreman will manage the Rebuild shop to utilize manpower best and meet customer requirements. This role involves working with the factory and service department to meet customer needs, developing and implementing quality control procedures, and ensuring equipment and tools are properly maintained. The Foreman will coordinate job scheduling, manage workflow for timely project completion, and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Effective communication with management, other departments, and team members is crucial. The position also assists with cost estimates, budget planning, resolving warranty issues, processing part orders, sourcing parts and materials, assisting with quotes and proposal writing, and maintaining customer relationships. This is an experienced level position located in York, PA.

Requirements

  • Ability to guide rebuilding techs.
  • Knowledge of the Industrial Refrigeration Service business
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to articulate technical issues to a non-technical audience.
  • Proven ability to work independently and confidently, with limited discretion, and to self-proof his/her work.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • PC literate and proficient in Excel and Word
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in Industrial Refrigeration as a successful compressor rebuilder

Nice To Haves

  • A degree is desirable but not required; industry experience is very important.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Rebuild shop to utilize manpower best and meet customer requirements.
  • Work with the factory and service department to meet customer needs.
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure all work meets the required standards.
  • Ensure all equipment and tools are properly maintained and in good working condition.
  • Coordinate job scheduling and manage workflow to ensure the timely completion of projects.
  • Ensure the shop complies with all safety regulations and promote a culture of safety among employees.
  • Effectively communicate with management, other departments, and team members to ensure smooth operations.
  • Assist with cost estimates and budget planning for rebuilding shop projects.
  • Assist customers in resolving warranty issues and provide the necessary documentation.
  • Process part orders for compressor rebuilds.
  • Source and acquired parts and materials essential for compressor work.
  • Assist with compressor rebuilding quotes and proposal writing.
  • Maintain customer relationships.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Oversee the work of technicians and mechanics, ensuring they follow proper procedures and safety protocols.
  • Regularly assess employee performance and provide feedback to help them improve.
  • Train new employees and provide ongoing training to existing staff to keep their skills up to date.
  • Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Partner with HR for discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
