About The Position

A Rebar Fabricator at Nucor Rebar Fabrication bends, cuts, bundles, and loads reinforcing steel bars according to customer orders. The position includes training from a mentor on safe use of machinery and requires working outdoors. Construction, landscaping, or other trades experience is noted as beneficial and may support advancement opportunities. Safety is a central priority: employees must initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards. The role is based in Boise, Idaho, and is currently hiring for the swing shift, 1:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.

Requirements

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Must pass a drug test, including THC, because the position is safety-sensitive.
Must be able to work overtime when required.
Able to read and comprehend basic safety and operational instructions.
Able to perform basic math for accurate bar measurements.
Must be able to work in an outdoor environment.

Previous construction or landscaping work experience.

Responsibilities

Unload trailers and store material in storage bins.
Operate a shearing machine or power saw to cut reinforcing steel bars to specified lengths.
Operate a bending machine to bend reinforcing steel bars to specified shapes.
Operate an overhead crane to move, assemble, and select material for fabrication or shipment.
Assemble and load orders onto trailers for shipping.
Operate a spray gun to apply epoxy touch-up to reinforcing steel bars.
Maintain the shop or designated area in a clean and safe manner.
Initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards.
