About The Position

We are looking for an HR Reasonable Accommodations Specialist to support a government client. This role involves ensuring accommodations for individuals are in accordance with the Rehab Act of 1973 as amended, the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act (ADAAA), and guidance from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). The specialist will evaluate appropriate medical documentation, meet with employees and applicants individually to discuss barriers in the work setting and identify appropriate accommodations, and collaborate with supervisors, managers, staff, and relevant mission partners to implement accommodations effectively. The position also requires providing consultant services and/or programs in areas of reasonable accommodation, using technical skill to develop overall plans, procedures, and operating methods for assignments, developing comprehensive reports regarding reasonable accommodation requests, and providing advisory services to management on reasonable accommodation requests per guidance and applicable laws governing reasonable accommodation/disability employment.

Requirements

  • At least four (4) years of more HR generalist experience.
  • At least four (4) years of experience performing reasonable accommodation duties.
  • Knowledge of the Rehab Act of 1973 as amended, the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act (ADAAA), and guidance from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).
  • Experience providing consultant services in the area of reasonable accommodation.
  • Must have technical skills to develop overall plans, procedures, and operating methods for assignments.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
