About The Position

The REALTOR ® News summer intern will be a part-time, 12-week position, designed to provide an intern with opportunities to see an association newsroom at work and support the work of the editorial team. The intern will have hands-on work with writing, editorial process , and posting content on our website.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing a degree in Journalism, Communications, English, Public Relations, Media Studies, or a related field
Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to AP Style
Interest in real estate, business, housing policy, or association journalism
Strong organizational skills
Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Eagerness to learn the editorial process and take constructive feedback
Reliable, detail-oriented, and self-motivated

Responsibilities

Check published content daily to make sure it has been deployed and categorized for NoteRouter (for sharing with state and local associations).
Join Monday status meeting and Thursday pitch meeting, and bring one story pitch each week.
Summarize stories for daily/weekly/monthly newsletter emails, as assigned by editor.
Write news stories as assigned by editor
Post content to the REALTOR ® News site.
