About The Position

This civilian position performs a variety of support duties related to the day-to-day operations and investigative follow-up of the Real Time Information Center (RTIC) through the use of video monitoring, ALPR data, sensor technologies, and open-source intelligence on a variety of software applications and CJIS compliant databases. Monitors and relays information pertinent to field operations using a variety of communication methods.

Requirements

  • Education equivalent to a high school diploma.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in law enforcement.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Proficiency with current computer technology, job-specific software, and customer service systems.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR certification preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months from the date of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Actively monitors NWCD calls for service and determines available RTIC resources to assist daily field operations. Prioritizes Schaumburg field operations and investigative follow-up.
  • Monitors live camera feeds and other data sources associated with calls for service, critical incidents, or special events, and communicates information to essential personnel. Monitors alerts from technology sources and law enforcement intelligence to ascertain a local nexus and need for action. Communicates findings to NWCD for sworn personnel response.
  • Proactively utilizes situational cameras and LPR data to identify criminal or suspicious activity and initiates a police response through NWCD.
  • Researches and collects available video and LPR data for in-house customer service requests, FOIA requests, and outside law enforcement agency requests according to policy.
  • Develops and maintains strategic relationships within the region. Participates in meetings and multijurisdictional operational plans to offer support and maximize resources.
  • Prepares necessary reports accurately in a timely manner and logs daily activity.
  • Notifies management of any important or critical incidents.
  • Reports any technical issues to RTIC management and initiates technical support when needed.
  • Participates in training including but not limited to technical specifications of RTIC assets, software, intelligence analysis, basic investigations, and other training deemed applicable. Provides training and on-boarding to new RTIC operators as well as Department-wide RTIC awareness training.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. Assists with Community Service Officer duties as needed. Completes customer service requests.
