About The Position

As a Real Estate Loan Servicing Specialist II, you'll provide comprehensive servicing support across our real estate loan portfolio, including first and second lien mortgages, home equity loans, mobile home loans, and subordination requests. You'll handle everything from payment history audits and corrections to lien releases, fixed conversions, and quality control resolution, all with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Beyond day-to-day servicing, this role is a trusted resource for the team. You'll help resolve complex errors, answer advanced loan servicing questions, and mentor newer staff. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • A minimum of three years of experience in a real estate lending role at a financial institution
  • A minimum of one year of real estate loan servicing experience
  • Thorough knowledge of how mortgage loan products function, including interest accrual, fee assessment, payment application, and the differences between loan types
  • Ability to interpret and apply operational and lending policies, and an understanding of federal and state laws and regulations applicable to lending and basic deposit accounts
  • Thorough understanding of mortgage loan products, interest rate calculations, and loan documentation for all mortgage loan types
  • Ability to evaluate reports and documents for quality and anomalies, analyze work processes, and recommend improvements and automation
  • Strong written and verbal communication, organization, and prioritization skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new systems quickly

Responsibilities

  • Handle a wide range of loan servicing requests with precision, from payment reversals and reallocations to electronic transfers and fee adjustments
  • Keep loan records accurate by verifying documents, filing them in the imaging system, and maintaining up-to-date information in our CRM
  • Spot and fix errors before they become problems, researching root causes and resolving issues for members and staff alike
  • Dig into member concerns around payments, billing, fees, address changes, and loan terms, and see them through to resolution
  • Manage the full closeout of paid-off loans, making sure lien releases, record retention, and third-party service cancellations happen on time
  • Double-check loan data, forms, and calculations, and pitch in on mobile home lending work like escrow reporting, lien releases, and payoffs
  • Carry out fixed conversions and subordinations according to sound accounting practices
  • Clean up quality control findings and team up with management to reduce errors going forward
  • Keep departmental procedures current, clear, and compliant across every servicing function
  • Cross-train with the Consumer Loan Servicing team to strengthen coverage and keep work flowing smoothly
