About The Position

As our Real Estate Junior Specialist, you will be responsible for packaging and dispatching real estate loan applications to members, ensuring all required documentation and upfront fees are collected. You will perform precise data entry within lending systems to ensure all loan fields are current and accurate. Additionally, you will prepare and organize mortgage loan files for submission to contract underwriting, order and track essential third-party reports, and validate subject property addresses. You will also book new Home Equity loans, process and mail loan disbursement checks, and order, process, and prepare internal and external mortgage payoff statements. This role supports the team in arranging loan closings and providing cross-functional backup for various real estate and loan servicing roles. You will serve as a primary point of contact for member inquiries via phone and email, providing professional updates on loan products and application status, and partnering closely with the Member Service team to uphold high standards for service quality and member satisfaction.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and a proven ability to learn new financial software and core systems quickly.
  • Exceptional accuracy in data entry and document review.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a team-oriented mindset and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic understanding of financial services or real estate lending (comprehensive training will be provided).
  • Familiarity with basic lending regulations governing financial institutions.
  • Bilingual fluency in Spanish is a significant plus.

Responsibilities

  • Package and dispatch real estate loan applications to members; verify that all required documentation and upfront fees are collected.
  • Perform precise data entry within lending systems to ensure all loan fields are current and accurate.
  • Prepare and organize mortgage loan files for submission to contract underwriting.
  • Order and track essential third-party reports, including IRS transcripts, credit reports, flood certificates, and Verifications of Employment (VOE) or Mortgage (VOM).
  • Validate subject property addresses via USPS and coordinate the ordering of Title work and Appraisals.
  • Book new Home Equity loans into the core system; process and mail loan disbursement checks and HELOC check orders.
  • Order, process, and prepare internal and external mortgage payoff statements.
  • Support the team in arranging loan closings and providing cross-functional backup for various real estate and loan servicing roles.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for member inquiries via phone and email, providing professional updates on loan products and application status.
  • Partner closely with the Member Service team to uphold the Credit Union's high standards for service quality and member satisfaction.
