About The Position

A real estate intern assists licensed appraisers in conducting field inspections, researching comparable sales, and drafting reports while learning compliance standards. It serves as a direct pathway to accruing the knowledge required for state licensure. Assists the appraisal department in completing appraisal reviews to ensure that they meet regulatory requirements and LSNB standards.

Requirements

  • A self-starting team player who possesses a High School Diploma or GED and is currently attending college towards the attainment of a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or a related field
  • Aptitude for math and performing calculations, cash flow analysis and ratios
  • Skills must include computer literacy in Windows, Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Good organizational, interpersonal and communication skills are necessary
  • Attention to detail and mental concentration are necessary for accurately performing tasks with frequent interruptions
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Must be able to work extended hours, as required

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is desired

Responsibilities

  • Assists licensed appraisers in evaluating property values
  • Accompany the supervising appraiser on site visits
  • Conducting market research, measuring and photographing properties during field visits, compiling comparable sales data, and drafting valuation reports under direct supervisor guidance.
  • Participates in job specific training and other various Bank training programs, as necessary
  • Maintains current knowledge of internal risk controls and loss prevention, including reporting of suspicious or unusual customer activity per Bank policy
  • Maintains current knowledge and complies with all federal and state laws and regulations and all established Bank policies and procedures, including internal audit controls related to department operations
  • Maintains current knowledge of all rules, regulations, and laws as they apply to BSA/OFAC/USA Patriot Act/CIP/AML
