Real Estate Finance Associate (Real Estate Capital Markets)
About The Position
Nelson Mullins is seeking a mid- to senior-level Real Estate Finance Associate to join its Real Estate Capital Markets group. This role offers a unique opportunity to a lateral associate who wants to be part of a dynamic and growing team within an AmLaw 100 firm. The Real Estate Capital Markets (RECM) team collaborates with various perspectives including real estate, finance, bankruptcy, corporate, regulatory, and tax. They handle commercial real estate loans, loan acquisitions and dispositions, due diligence for large transactions, asset administration, and loan securitization and servicing. The team represents a diverse range of financial institutions.
Requirements
- Mid-level to senior finance associate with meaningful structured finance and/or real estate development experience
- Adept across aspects of commercial real estate finance, including warehouse financing, loan securitization, complex finance structures, mezzanine finance, and equity investments
- Comfortable with servicing and custodial arrangements
- Strong writing, analytical, and communication skills
- 3 to 6 years of experience practicing as a finance associate
- Admitted to, and in good standing with, the Georgia Bar (or eligible for admission)

- Loan-on-loan experience
- Experience with loan origination
- Candidates retooling from a similar practice, such as corporate finance or structured finance
Responsibilities
- Closing commercial real estate loans
- Buying or selling loans and loan portfolios
- Conducting due diligence for large multi-property and multi-loan transactions
- Administering assets pledged under master repurchase facilities
- Securitizing and servicing loans as master or special servicer
