Real Estate Development Officer
About The Position
SupportWorks Housing (formerly Virginia Supportive Housing) is seeking a Real Estate Development Officer in the Richmond, VA area to help bring affordable multifamily housing projects from concept to completion. This role is ideal for a mission-driven development professional who enjoys managing complex projects, collaborating with diverse partners, and making a tangible difference in the community. Requirements
- Master's degree with 2+ years of multifamily real estate development experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong understanding of real estate development and finance
- Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Valid Virginia driver's license and ability to travel state-wide
Nice To Haves
- Notary Public in Virginia preferred
Responsibilities
- Manage affordable multifamily development projects from due diligence through closeout
- Coordinate financing, tax credits, grants, and loan applications
- Work closely with architects, contractors, consultants, and lenders
- Oversee construction administration, budgets, bids, and change orders
- Support real estate transactions, closings, and post-occupancy reviews
- Ensure organized documentation and smooth handoff of completed projects
