About The Position

Lincoln Avenue Communities (LAC) is seeking driven Summer Analysts to join our Development team in Santa Monica. This internship program is designed to help you launch a career in affordable multifamily real estate by working side-by-side with experts in acquisitions, rehabilitation, refinancing, and ground-up development. As a Summer Analyst, you’ll be part of a collaborative team dedicated to creating and preserving affordable housing communities nationwide. From day one, you’ll gain hands-on experience, structured training, and exposure to live real estate projects that make a meaningful impact in communities across the country. Our internship is carefully designed to balance professional development with practical experience. Through mentorship, project-based learning, and opportunities to contribute in a dynamic team environment, you’ll be supported as you grow, learn, and explore your potential in real estate development. Each year, we refine the program to ensure interns leave with: Technical skills that translate directly to a career in real estate development, Valuable relationships with mentors and peers, A clear understanding of the affordable housing industry and its challenges.

Requirements

  • Current college seniors graduating in Spring 2027 and rising seniors with an expected graduation date of Spring 2028.
  • Foundational knowledge of real estate
  • Technical proficiency in real estate financial modeling and the ability to apply analytical skills to complex projects
  • A self-starter mindset, able to operate independently while taking full ownership of responsibilities and contributing effectively within a team environment
  • Excellent time management and communication skills, with the ability to prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced setting
  • A strong work ethic and drive for excellence, consistently striving to perform at the highest level

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity in multifamily affordable housing considered a strong plus

Responsibilities

  • Collect and analyze due diligence materials
  • Evaluate market supply, demand, and economic trends
  • Build and maintain financial models to support project analysis
  • Present recommendations to LAC’s Investment Committee
  • Track and update project details in the internal project management system
  • Coordinate and monitor delivery of third-party reports, site visits, and vendor communications
  • Participate in deal team meetings, capturing notes and action items
  • Support various ad hoc projects across the Development team
