About The Position

The Real Estate Acquisitions & Capital Raising Intern will support CONAM’s efforts across real estate acquisitions, investor relations, and capital formation. This role is designed to provide exposure to the evaluation of multifamily investment opportunities, market research, underwriting support, and investor-facing materials. The intern will work closely with members of the acquisitions and capital raising teams, gain insight into the real estate investment process, and contribute to the execution of strategic initiatives across the platform.

Requirements

  • Current student enrolled in a degree-seeking undergraduate or graduate program, or recent graduate, with an interest in real estate, finance, business, economics, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in real estate acquisitions, capital markets, investor relations, and investment management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Basic financial modeling and analytical skills preferred.
  • Demonstrates initiative by proactively identifying priorities, asking insightful questions, and quickly learning new concepts to drive tasks through to successful completion.
  • Effectively manages multiple priorities by organizing workflows, schedules, and resources to ensure efficiency, timeliness, and high-quality outcomes.
  • Maintains a high level of accuracy by thoroughly reviewing work, identifying inconsistencies, and ensuring all tasks meet established standards.
  • Ability to interpret data, conduct comprehensive research, and synthesize complex information into clear, actionable insights to support decision-making.
  • Works effectively with individuals at all levels of an organization, fostering strong relationships through clear communication, teamwork, and a professional approach.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with underwriting and evaluation of potential real estate acquisition opportunities.
  • Evaluate rent rolls and operating statements to prepare data for underwriting models and investment analysis.
  • Support the preparation and updating of acquisition models, deal summaries, and investment committee materials.
  • Conduct research on rental comps, sales comps, competitive properties, and submarket fundamentals to support investment decision-making.
  • Help organize and maintain transaction-related materials, including due diligence files, broker offering materials, and internal tracking reports.
  • Assist with pipeline management and data entry related to active and prospective transactions.
  • Assist in the preparation and updating of investor presentation materials, fundraising decks, and firm overview materials.
  • Support research on prospective investors, consultants, RIAs, family offices, and other capital sources.
  • Help maintain investor outreach lists, meeting notes, and follow-up trackers.
  • Assist with compilation of fundraising materials, due diligence requests, and data room organization.
  • Support updates to investor letters, performance summaries, and other communications as needed.
  • Communicate professionally and respond to internal requests in a timely manner.
  • Work collaboratively with team members across acquisitions, asset management, investor relations, and other departments.
  • Assist with special projects and all other duties as assigned.
