About The Position

As a Real Estate Accountant, you will oversee the day-to-day accounting, general ledger maintenance, and financial reporting across our corporate real estate and property portfolio. This role handles property-level income statements, multi-entity close cycles, tenant financial tracking, and variance analysis to support high-level executive decision-making.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a closely related field.
• Solid comprehension of GAAP, general ledger management, and financial reporting.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, data analysis).
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple legal entities, properties, and shifting deadlines simultaneously.
• Full-time, structured in-office attendance (this role is not eligible for remote or hybrid schedules).

Nice To Haves

• 3+ years of experience within commercial real estate, property management, or construction accounting.
• Hands-on experience using specialized real estate/property management accounting software.
• Experience navigating multi-entity internal environments and intercompany transactions.
• Progress toward a CPA, CMA, or related professional financial designation.

Responsibilities

• Perform month-end close workflows, reconcile property-level financial statements, and investigate key budget-to-actual variances.
• Prepare monthly bank, balance sheet, and complex intercompany account reconciliations across multiple legal entities.
• Track fixed assets and depreciation, manage accounting for acquisitions/dispositions, and oversee tenant improvement allowances.
• Review tenant billings, process incoming property vendor invoices, track rent collections, and audit aging reports.
• Assist in building annual property operating budgets, prepare data packages for annual financial audits, and support property tax reporting.
• Identify ways to streamline internal control workflows and maximize the efficiency of our core property management and accounting software platforms.
