About The Position

This position is a 1.0 FTE located at Gunston Middle School. The role requires the ability to function as a member of a team, demonstrating flexibility, dependability, and high organization. The teacher will utilize current knowledge regarding language arts research and practice, as well as current knowledge of both group and individual assessment and how to interpret the results. The position may involve leading team meetings and language arts committees as needed. Salary will be based on the FY2026-27 salary schedule.

Requirements

• Experience working with middle school students.
• Must have or be eligible for Virginia licensure.
• Must have Middle School English, English, or be eligible for reading endorsement (masters in reading or masters in another teaching area plus reading endorsement.

Nice To Haves

• Dual endorsement in English as a Second Language and/or Special Education, or in any other content area, is preferred but not required.
