About The Position

We are currently seeking a Certified Reading Specialist who excels working with children who have challenging behaviors in a classroom setting. This position will support our approved private school for an emotional support and behavioral health population located at [20 McMaster Blvd, Landenberg, PA 19350]. The Reading Specialist position is Full-Time, Monday-Friday.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Education and /or Special Education required.
• Pennsylvania Department of Education Reading Specialist Certification required.
• Experience in a school teaching environment required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to lead group meetings and interface with internal and external stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

• Wilson Reading System Level I Certification preferred or willingness to obtain Wilson certification.
• Experience providing specially designed instruction preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide reading intervention services directly to students in individual and group settings
• Maintain progress monitoring and data to support growth of students
• Conduct screenings and provide diagnostic results of student's reading levels and needs
• Attend IEP meetings and report on student progress
• Provide consultation specific to reading instruction including modeling, observations and coaching to teachers and teacher's assistants
• Work collaboratively with the leadership of the schools and the student's IEP team to provide a continuum of reading instruction
