About The Position

Mount St. Joseph University, an institution with a rich history dating back to 1920, is seeking a Language Comprehension Content Specialist to join its Curriculum Project Team within the Center for Reading Science. This grant-supported, full-time, 12-month position is focused on the Reading Opens Worlds (ROW) curriculum, an integrated literacy, science, and social studies program for PreK-2nd grade students. The role involves supporting the Language Comprehension team through writing lessons, developing materials, and editing, with a strong emphasis on the science of reading. Requirements

A master’s degree in reading or a related field is required; doctoral degree preferred (ABD candidates are welcome to apply).
Extensive teaching experience in PreK–5 reading instruction.
Proven ability to prepare educators in evidence-based reading practices.
Experience working with diverse students, families, and school communities.
Experience writing instructional materials.
The ability to work collaboratively and effectively with faculty, staff, students, alumni, and professional partners is essential.

Responsibilities

Support the Language Comprehension team with projects including writing lessons, materials development, and editing.
Serve on the curriculum project team in the Center for Reading Science.
Provide service to the graduate program, department, university, and the professional community.
Other duties as assigned.
