About The Position

Tulsa Honor Academy (THA) is seeking a dedicated Reading Intervention Manager to join their Network Leadership Team. This role is crucial in driving English Language Arts (ELA) results across the THA network by supporting schools with reading investment and fostering a strong Tier 1 culture of reading. The manager will also provide support for Tier 2 and Tier 3 reading interventions, ensuring all scholars develop the necessary literacy skills to succeed in THA's rigorous academic program. The position emphasizes a commitment to equity, community, excellence, real change, and courage, believing that all scholars, regardless of background, can achieve at high levels and graduate from college.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Experience with phonics instruction required.
  • 2 years of experience as a K-12 literacy teacher required.
  • Proven track record of academic growth and achievement.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience with K-2 literacy instruction preferred.
  • Experience in leading teachers is preferred.
  • Prior experience in a school serving a similar population to THA’s is preferred.
  • Charter school experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supports schools in implementing structures, incentives, and projects that build investment in reading.
  • Ensures that scholars are getting sufficient independent reading time and have access to high quality, interesting texts at their level.
  • Collaborates with families and schools to strengthen and support a culture of reading.
  • Coordinates the identification of scholars needing reading intervention, ensuring they receive the necessary support.
  • Supports in diagnosing foundational decoding and fluency gaps.
  • Monitors progress for scholars receiving reading interventions and strategically responds to student data.
  • Ensures that staff responsible for providing reading interventions are equipped and provide interventions aligned with the Science of Reading with fidelity.
  • Directly provides foundational literacy support in small groups as part of reading MTSS.
  • Other projects, as needed
