Reading Instructor
About The Position
The Academic/Special Ed Instructor teaches in a regular classroom setting, presenting instruction in a designated subject area. The instructor fosters a positive classroom atmosphere to support student motivation, maintains classroom discipline to support learning, builds rapport with students, and uses available curriculum resources. The position also involves maintaining student personnel folders and recording and forwarding daily attendance to Student Records. The role is based at Paul Simon Job Corps in Chicago, Illinois. Job Corps is a nationwide residential career training program that helps eligible young people ages 16 through 24 complete high school, train for careers, and obtain employment.
Requirements
- Be certified to teach in the state of Illinois.
- Pass a drug screen in accordance with the Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
- Successfully complete a nationwide criminal background check; employment is contingent upon completion.
Nice To Haves
- A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record is preferred.
