About The Position

This position is available within the University of Maryland’s Division of Information Technology (DIT). Join our Elevate team to be part of the transformation to the next generation of student services computing at the University of Maryland (UMD). We are seeking an experienced professional to serve as a Readiness Specialist for the Elevate Change Management team. This person coordinates activities for the Campus Engagement Groups and supports other campus engagement efforts. The position also assists the Change Team in the delivery and facilitation of readiness workshops, functional overviews, and town halls; including data staging and scenario development. As a member of the team, the position aids in the development of website content, newsletter articles, and other communication activities. The Readiness Specialist receives direct supervision from the Readiness Lead but is expected to work across the ERP team as necessary. This position is considered essential and may be required to work at the normal work location or an alternative location during a major catastrophic event, weather emergency, or other operational emergency to help maintain the continuity of University services. May be required to work evenings, nights, weekends, or different shifts for extended periods.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Three (3) years of experience in related field.
  • Knowledge of organizational principles and time management practices.
  • Skill in project management, including planning, coordinating, tracking progress, and ensuring successful completion of initiatives within established timelines.
  • Skill in verbal and written communication to clearly convey information, prepare correspondence, and interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze complex information, identify issues, and evaluate options.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience working within a higher‑education environment (institutional, consulting, or system implementation) is strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting organizational change, readiness activities, or stakeholder engagement in complex project environments.
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate impacts and readiness needs for diverse campus audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to create clear, tailored materials for faculty, staff, and student stakeholder groups.
  • Collaborative and detail‑oriented, able to work effectively with project team members and campus stakeholders in fast‑moving environments
