About The Position

The University of Washington Information School is recruiting graduate students for the LIS 520 A/B hourly Reader/Grader position. Qualifications are based on prior course work, skill level, experience, and schedule availability. LIS 520: Concepts, Services, and Issues for Information Professionals. LIS 520 A Lecture: M/W 10:30 am - 12:20 pm. LIS 520 B Lecture: T/Th 8:30 am - 10:20 am. This position will work a maximum of 10 hours per week. Reader/Graders may not perform teaching duties.

Requirements

  • Graduate students enrolled in a minimum of 5 credits at the University of Washington Seattle as of Autumn 2026
  • Strong interest and ability to work with students having diverse skill levels.
  • Prior completion of LIS 520 with strong performance or demonstrated proficiency in the course content.
  • Applicants must be located in the United States for the duration of the appointment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and grade exams and papers
  • Maintain grading records
  • Manage, and respond to course related email
  • Attend instructor/employee meetings
  • Attend lectures and office hours
  • Review literature

Benefits

  • Pay: $23.81 - $25.48 per hour based on experience.
