About The Position

Clean Harbors is hiring a Reactor Operator in Cleveland, Ohio. The role offloads and treats drum and bulk loads and supports an established team in processing incoming waste generated by Clean Harbors customers. The listed pay is $23–$28 per hour, depending on experience. The regular schedule is Thursday through Sunday, 7:30 a.m.–6 p.m.; training is Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m.–4 p.m.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 1 year of treatment operations or operations experience.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Proficiency in Windows-based applications.

Nice To Haves

Experience working with chemicals and/or in reactor operator environments.
Knowledge of reactor systems, safeguards, capabilities, and procedures.

Responsibilities

Sample and offload inbound tankers, complete final truck offloading documents, and perform reactor treatments as instructed by the laboratory.
Obtain a red flag review for loads that require one before processing.
Complete the daily reactor-operation checklist, including maintaining scrubber logs.
Perform daily unit maintenance duties and promptly communicate reactor problems or issues to management and maintenance.
Operate the reactor safely and in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and checklist parameters.
Complete and submit paperwork for waste-tracking movements and scanning operations, and maintain logs according to site-specific permits.
Ensure work meets applicable Health and Safety Standard Operating Procedures.
Review applicable SOPs and satisfactorily complete quizzes.
Understand and take ownership of area-specific permit-required compliance standards.
Follow laboratory-prescribed treatment recipes and immediately communicate deviations from permit-required conditions.
Maintain a clean work environment.
Understand the Clean Compliance Standard.
