The Supplier Quality Development Engineer (SQD) for Propulsion Systems at Stellantis is accountable for leading and managing suppliers through critical issue recovery such as quality spills, supply constraints and throughput OEE constraints to ensure high operational efficiency, robust industrialization, and capable manufacturing processes that meet Stellantis quality and capacity requirements. This role requires close collaboration with internal and external Engineering, Manufacturing, and Purchasing teams to ensure appropriate containment and mitigation plans are selected, validated, and implemented to recover normal production quality and supply. As a key driver of supplier performance, the Propulsion SQD leads root cause analysis and structured problem-solving efforts, drives process improvements, and ensures deployment of best practices and lessons learned across programs. The SQD serves as the technical expert for the manufacturing processes and technologies associated with propulsion system components. Typical propulsion components in scope include: Electric Drive Modules (EDM), Driveline Components, Battery Packs and Modules, Power Electronics (Inverters, Converters, On-Board Chargers), Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) components (when applicable), Transmissions and eAxles, Thermal management systems related to propulsion, Purchased Engines, Castings. The SQD partners with suppliers to evaluate and improve their manufacturing processes, establish robust quality systems, and ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality components to Stellantis assembly plants. This includes frequent onsite supplier visits, providing technical feedback to ensure corrective and preventive actions are effectively implemented.
