About The Position

This role is responsible for assisting in the efficient operation of lift/reach trucks, performing housekeeping duties in the work area, and safely moving materials. The position requires collaboration and communication with all levels of employees and management, operating a forklift/reach truck to transport materials, and loading/unloading/stacking materials according to procedures. The employee will also communicate non-compliance and quality issues to their supervisor and must be able to read and understand material labels and work orders, while complying with safety rules and forklift training.

Requirements

• Must have a valid driver's license.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be able to work any scheduled times, including overnight and weekend shifts.
• Must be able to work overtime as needed, including extra hours on short notice.
• Standing for extended periods.
• Awkward and/or repetitive movements.
• Climbing ladders and/or stairways.
• Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. repeatedly and up to 50 lbs. frequently for up to 12 hours.
• Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.
• Use of various hand and electrical tools and equipment.
• Work in areas of fluctuating temperature.
• Required to wear personal protective equipment (including but not limited to steel toe shoes, earplugs, safety glasses, hairnet and beard net (if applicable)).
• Ability to use hand truck, drum dolly, and electric pallet jack as needed.
• Regularly works near moving mechanical parts.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the operation of lift/reach trucks.
• Perform housekeeping duties in work area, including sweeping, mopping, keeping forklift/reach truck clean, and disposing of trash.
• Collaborate and communicate with all levels of employees and management.
• Safely move material to and from storage, machines and finished goods areas.
• Operate forklift/reach truck to transport materials to and from storage areas, workstations, and within other areas of assignment.
• Load, transport, unload and stack materials in accordance with established procedures.
• Communicate non-compliance and/or quality problems to supervisor.
• Read and understand material labels and work orders.
• Comply with safety rules and requirements.
• Comply with forklift training.
