About The Position

Sulzer Turbo Services (STS) is an independent provider of services and repairs of critical turbomachinery. We specialize in the repair, overhaul, and replacement of parts for high-speed rotating equipment such as steam and gas turbines, compressors, expanders, and other industrial rotating equipment found primarily in the Oil & Gas, Pipeline, Petrochemical, Ammonia, Nitric Acid, Fertilizer and Power Generation markets. This role provides inspection support to the quality control department.

Requirements

• Exposure to precision hand tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, depth gauges, etc.)
• Exposure to, or willingness to learn digital equipment like CMM
• Ability to make logical decisions and provide inspection feedback to the machinists
• Proactive and solution oriented
• Familiarity with CAD and component drawings
• Familiarity with GDT per ASME Y14.5M-2009.
• Clear communication, both written and oral.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Inspecting new parts with a wide range of metrology equipment (Micrometers, CMM, ATOS blue light scanning, ect.)
• Operating quality control hardware and software programs.
• Evaluating inspection results per manufacturing/repair drawings.
• Returning rejected parts to appropriate shop members.
• Providing feedback to improve department processes.
• Support the drafting department with instructions as needed.
