About The Position

Kerry is seeking an RD&A Senior Technologist / Scientist to support the growth of the North America Beverage market. Reporting to the RD&A Director, you will develop market relevant, innovative beverage products using Kerry’s industry leading taste technology portfolio. You will be part of a collaborative team of scientists and technicians focused on creating liquid and powder beverage concepts for internal initiatives and customer projects. This role requires strong technical capability, creativity, and the ability to lead projects, from concept through commercialization. Success in this position relies on excellent communication, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to partner with Flavourists, Nutrition Scientists, Regulatory, Marketing, Sales, and Finance.

Requirements

  • BSc, MSc, or PhD in Food Science, Food Engineering, or a related scientific field.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in beverage product development.
  • Strong understanding of the North America beverage market.
  • Demonstrated success bringing developed products from concept to commercial launch.
  • Strong understanding of food chemistry, sensory science, microbiology, food engineering, and packaging systems.
  • Experience with both powder and liquid beverage technologies.
  • Pilot plant experience including scaleup, troubleshooting, and production trial support.
  • Skilled in ingredient functionality, formulation, and beverage processing.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end to end formulation and concept development of liquid and powder beverages.
  • Work with customer bases to apply flavours, extracts, and taste modulation tools to create great tasting beverages.
  • Focus on high growth beverage categories including Energy, Hydration, Protein, and other added functionality beverages.
  • Apply strong technical and commercial understanding of ingredients, processes, market trends, and customer needs.
  • Develop innovative and cost-effective solutions aligned with manufacturing capabilities and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead Pilot Plant validations, including preparation, execution, and documentation of trials.
  • Support first production runs internally and with external manufacturing partners.
  • Build strong customer relationships through clear communication, project leadership, presentations, and application support.
  • Partner with Sales and Business Development teams for technical presentations and customer engagement activities.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver best-in-class Taste & Nutrition solutions.
  • Conduct research to improve product quality related to flavor, color, texture, nutrition, and physical, chemical, or microbiological properties.
