About The Position

Zurich RCIS is currently hiring an RCIS Regional Underwriting Lead to join the Policy Underwriting Services team in the Great Lakes Region! This role will lead, motivate and develop a team of Crop Insurance Underwriting Associates and Analysts and will work closely with Field Sales and Service teams to support our Agents and customers in the growing Crop industry. RCIS provides insurance and superior services through leading agents to protect America’s farmers and ranchers. It’s been an innovator in crop insurance since the crop insurance business was privatized in 1980. Today it’s one of the nation’s largest crop insurance providers, offering risk management protection in all 50 states through a national network of about 4,000 professionally trained and licensed agents. Anticipated travel for this position is roughly 10%.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 4 or more years of experience in the Insurance, Underwriting or Market Facing area OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including Associate Degree and 4 or more years’ experience in the Insurance, Underwriting or Market Facing area OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6 or more years of experience in the Insurance, Underwriting or Market Facing area
  • Knowledge of the insurance industry and the legal and regulatory environment

Responsibilities

  • Providing knowledge of crop insurance policy and procedure to your team; along with guidance, review and process of crop insurance documents associated with the procurement of Crop insurance
  • Reinforce training from our National Training team relative to SOPs, CI Max suspensions - may train on more complex suspensions – will be a champion for change as new technologies are implemented
  • Monitoring the team status of suspended policies and provide guidance to ensure that the required information is received and processed in accordance with established SOPs and RMA procedures
  • Working with the other Regional Offices to provide consistency in handling submissions and processing policyholder RMA exception requests
  • Ensure the team is capable of providing superior customer service internally and externally, while handling any escalated issues as appropriate
  • Provide training and support in internal training meetings
  • Demonstrating superior customer focus while maintaining the highest level of professionalism to ensure the customer's needs are met, employee engagement is high and production goals are achieved
