About The Position

A Mill Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining machinery that grinds materials into powders or particles. The Mill Operator sets up the machinery, monitors the production process, and makes adjustments as needed to ensure the quality and consistency of the output. They must also inspect, clean, and maintain the equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure safety. The role may require physical stamina to keep up with the demands of the job.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license.
Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. (25 kgs.).
Must be able to stand, sit, walk, reach, stoop, squat, climb ladders, ramps & stairs, push and pull.
Must be able to reach at or below waist level and occasionally overhead.
Must be able to drive (forklift).
Must be able to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds (machinery alarms).
Must be able to wear respirator and any other necessary personal protective equipment.
This position requires a fit for duty physical.

Responsibilities

Operate and maintain machinery that grinds materials into powders or particles.
Set up the machinery.
Monitor the production process and make adjustments as needed to ensure quality and consistency.
Inspect, clean, and maintain equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure safety.
Operate Raymond Mill.
Operate bulk loading weigh scale.
Operate forklift.
Perform various physical duties as assigned.
Adhere to all safety standards.
Move, secure, install, build, load or unload materials.
Perform some specialized tasks which may require on the job training.
Effectively use heavy and light equipment, depending on the task/assignment.
Perform all other duties assigned by Supervisor or Manager.
