About The Position

This role is responsible for receiving raw milk, ensuring quality and safety standards are met throughout the process. The Raw Receiver will perform various checks, tests, and documentation to comply with company and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Attended a Chemical Safety Training Session within the past 12 months.
  • Attended GMP, FSMA, Food Defense Awareness, and Allergen Training.
  • Received training in appropriate PCs.
  • Meet all requirements of the SQF Program.
  • Comply with all GMP Requirements.
  • Comply with all requirements for Personal Protective Equipment as defined by appropriate plant procedures.
  • Comply with all Safety Rules and Policies.
  • Certified by the State authorities as a Raw milk receiver.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure back and dome seals are intact and match corresponding paperwork. Verify the time limit of the wash tag.
  • Inspect the tanker for dirt and debris before opening the dome cover, cleaning if necessary.
  • Visually check the milk for off-color, debris, or objectionable odor after breaking the dome seal.
  • Prepare to take samples of the load using proper sanitary technique.
  • Test the load for water, betalactin, and aflatoxins (when applicable).
  • Ensure the Silo is properly drained before receiving milk into it.
  • Unload the tanker if all checks are within standard.
  • Document all information on corresponding paperwork, including the Silo used for receiving.
  • Prepare the vehicle for washing after the tanker is unloaded.
  • Check chemical concentrations for the automated CIP system to ensure proper washing and mark the CIP chart.
  • Keep all samples refrigerated to maintain sample integrity.
  • Visually inspect the tanker to ensure proper washing and reassemble all hand-cleaned parts.
  • Return all necessary paperwork to the hauler and re-seal the tanker.
  • Be mindful of surroundings and observant to preventing workplace hazards, especially slip hazards.
  • Follow Lock Out Tag Out procedures when working on equipment.
  • Adhere to chemical safety procedures for using and storing chemicals according to SSOP and wear proper eye and skin protection.
