About The Position

The Raw Receiver is responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of incoming milk shipments. This role involves a series of checks and procedures to verify the milk meets all required standards before being accepted into the facility. The position also requires adherence to strict safety protocols and company policies.

Requirements

  • Must have attended a Chemical Safety Training Session within the past 12 months.
  • Must have attended GMP, FSMA, Food Defense Awareness, and Allergen Training.
  • Received training in appropriate PCs.
  • Must meet all requirements of the SQF Program.
  • Must comply with all GMP Requirements.
  • Must comply with all requirements for Personal Protective Equipment as defined by appropriate plant procedures.
  • Must comply with all Safety Rules and Policies.
  • All Raw milk receivers shall be certified by the State authorities.
  • Mindful of surroundings - observant to preventing all workplace hazards, especially slip hazards.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure back and dome seals are intact and match corresponding paperwork.
  • Verify the time limit of the wash tag.
  • Inspect the tanker for dirt and debris before opening the dome cover, cleaning if necessary.
  • Visually check the milk for off-color, debris, or objectionable odors after breaking the dome seal.
  • Prepare to take samples of the load using proper sanitary technique.
  • Test the load for water, betalactin, and aflatoxins (when applicable).
  • Ensure the Silo is properly drained before receiving milk.
  • Unload the tanker if all checks are within standard.
  • Document all information on corresponding paperwork, including the Silo used.
  • Prepare the vehicle for washing by the automated CIP system after unloading.
  • Check chemical concentrations to ensure proper washing and mark the CIP chart accordingly.
  • Keep all samples refrigerated to maintain integrity.
  • Visually inspect the tanker to ensure proper washing.
  • Reassemble all hand-cleaned parts.
  • Return all necessary paperwork to the hauler and re-seal the tanker.
  • Follow Lock Out Tag Out procedures when working on equipment.
  • Use and store chemicals according to SSOP and wear proper eye and skin protection.
