Reporting to the Sourcing Manager - Chemicals, the Raw Materials Specialist manages all phases of the purchasing operation of raw materials for Twin Rivers Paper Company.

Requirements

  • College degree, preferably in Chemical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Procurement or paper mill operations.
  • Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Actively supports and promotes safe work practices throughout the mill by being present at safety activities and personally encouraging safe behaviors.
  • Keeps abreast of modern purchasing practices and techniques and directs staff in the development of modern purchasing and inventory management techniques.
  • Assist with contracts and purchase agreements.
  • Manages bulk raw material inventories and orders accordingly.
  • Manages material flow to ensure inventory is maintained at the optimum level to support on time customer deliveries while keeping inventory holdings at the appropriate levels.
  • Actively participate in month end closing as well as yearend.
  • Coordinate with transportation department for pick-ups.
  • Responsible for IQ Invoicing and verifying accurate billing.
  • Communicate with operators in the color prep and beater rooms.
  • Helps with the development of the annual budget, tracks performance, identify and implement opportunities to improve cost performance.
  • Attends and supports the daily mill production meeting and participates in other meetings such as safety, contractor performance, business review, project scheduling, budget review and staff meetings as required.
  • Shall have responsibility to report problems with the food safety management system to identified person(s).
  • Shall have an awareness of the Food Safety Policy, GMP’s, HACCP principles and Food Safety Standard.
