About The Position

This role is responsible for maintaining raw material inventory levels to support production, with a precise focus on controlled pumping of specific poly resins from railcars to silos. The position involves accurate unloading and receiving of raw materials. Initial training will be conducted on the night shift (7pm-7am) before transitioning to the day shift (7am-7pm) upon completion. The Raw Material Handler/Pumper will also assist planning, purchasing, and production departments with raw material needs, conduct daily accuracy checks, update railcar maps, and manage raw material distribution using RF functions and various PIT vehicles. Troubleshooting minor issues with resin pumps and performing necessary maintenance on pumps and equipment are also key responsibilities. The role requires calculating accurate tallies and documentation during loading, unloading, and warehouse processes, inspecting all equipment daily, and reporting defects. Maintaining an efficient product flow, good housekeeping of the warehouse and rail yard, and providing accurate paperwork for database maintenance are essential. The position involves operating a Radio Frequency Gun for movements, barcoding, and inventories, observing all safety rules, and using proper safety equipment. Ensuring the quality of palletized product and storing it according to warehouse policies, assisting with preventative maintenance, and documenting any issues or concerns are also part of the job. The role may require performing other duties as necessary.

Requirements

  • HS diploma, GED or ability to pass a basic skills test
  • Knowledge of product codes.

  • Initial training for the pumper role will require the selected individual to work the night shift to receive specialized instruction from a designated mentor.

  • Other PPE required based upon specific tasks.
  • Observes all safety rules and uses the proper safety equipment at all times.
  • Outdoor work environment in various weather conditions as required.
  • Walk/stand 100% of time during a 12-hour shift.
  • Occasional stooping, bending, kneeling and squatting throughout shift.
  • Occasional climbing and reaching overhead during shift.
  • Frequent pushing and pulling with arms and legs throughout shift, including materials requiring up to 75lbs of force to maneuver.
  • Frequent lifting or carrying up to 50lbs.
  • Constant use of hands and occasional use of foot control.
  • Constant light and firm grasping with hands throughout shift.
  • Operation of cranes, hoists, hand trucks and roll manipulators throughout shift.
  • Daily sweeping and organizing floor and work area.

  • Ability to work in harsh environments including rain, snow, wind and inclement weather.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain raw material inventory levels to assist production.

  • Responsible for daily accuracy checks and updating of railcar maps.
  • Puts away and distributes raw materials using RF functions using various PIT vehicles as needed.
  • Ability to troubleshoot minor issues with resin pumps.
  • Maintain pumps and equipment as needed.
  • Calculates accurate tallies and documentation during the loading, unloading, and warehouse process.
  • Inspects all equipment used on a daily basis and report defects to Management.
  • Maintains an efficient product flow throughout the warehouse operation.
  • Maintains good housekeeping of the warehouse area and rail yard.
  • Provides accurate and legible paperwork to maintain an accurate database.
  • Insures the integrity and accuracy of all inventories on a daily basis.
  • Operates the Radio Frequency Gun to conduct movements, barcode, and inventories.
  • Observe all safety rules and use proper safety equipment at all times.
  • Ensure the quality of the palletized product and store it in accordance to warehouse policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the performance of preventative maintenance.
  • Provide accurate and legible documentation of any issues and concerns.
  • Provide accurate and legible documentation of product changes.
  • Follow the proper procedures of Lock Out Tags policy.
  • Performs other duties as necessary when directed to do so.
