About The Position

The Raw Material Area enables IKEA to influence responsible sourcing and business practices globally. This role focuses on securing the accessibility of affordable raw materials from responsibly managed sources through optimized supply chains, aiming for a positive social and environmental impact. The Raw Material Developer will be part of the Raw Material Area team, focusing on forestry/agribusiness raw materials.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience required; Master’s preferred in Forestry, Agribusiness, or related field.
• Experience working in the forestry and wood processing industry, with knowledge of sustainable forest management, timber trade, and/or wood product supply chains; alternatively, similar experience within the agribusiness sector.
• Good understanding of national legislation in forestry, agriculture, and other land use-related areas.
• Experience engaging in dialogue with government, NGOs, and other stakeholders.
• Ability to take leadership and manage projects to achieve results.
• Ability to handle multiple and changing priorities/deadlines and moderate stress.
• Ability to cope with extensive domestic and international travel up to 25-35%.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Strong leadership and coaching capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Secure development and deployment of relevant sourcing requirements and working methods for raw materials, including compliance capabilities.
• Implement the strategic direction for sustainable, affordable, and accessible raw materials in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Lead market intelligence for forestry and agriculture products in the region, monitoring the market within the IKEA context.
• Serve as a competence center for the forestry and agriculture sector and their respective markets in the region or area of responsibility.
