About The Position

ELS is hiring a Campground Ranger in Morgan Hill, California. The position involves walking or patrolling campground grounds, answering guest questions, enforcing rules, and helping ensure the safety of guests and their belongings. The Ranger should be able to handle stressful situations calmly and respond appropriately with regard to local, state, and federal law. The role also includes monitoring and securing the property, checking guest access at the campground gate, conducting routine patrols and inspections, taking reservations, checking guests in and out, and selling day passes and store items. Guest safety and satisfaction are priorities.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Basic reading, writing, and math skills, and the ability to use computer applications.
Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
Ability to assess situations, use quick and reasonable judgment, and resolve problems diplomatically.
Exceptional customer service and communication skills, and a friendly demeanor.
Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and current auto insurance.
Ability to work weekends and holidays on a regular basis.

Nice To Haves

Experience working in security and/or law enforcement.
Experience working in an RV environment.

Responsibilities

Monitor the property for property issues or potential problems.
Ensure that the property is properly secured.
Ensure guests comply with resort rules, respond to areas of concern, and contact law enforcement if necessary.
Monitor incoming guests at the campground gate and validate whether access is acceptable.
Perform routine patrols and inspect golf carts and rentals.
Take camping reservations, check guests in and out, and sell day passes and store items.
Prioritize guest safety and happiness.
