About The Position

Performs various tasks under supervision to assist in the everyday operations of a cow/calf operation.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situation.
• Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
• Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
• Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands/fingers to handle, manipulate, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
• Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist fencing crew in construction and maintenance of fence lines.
• General clean-up at various facilities, barns, etc., on the ranch.
• Assist in landscaping maintenance including mowing and weed control.
• Other duties may be assigned.
