About The Position

Shoot Smart is a family-owned business with four locations across the Metroplex, recognized as Fort Worth's Best Gun Shop and Best Gun Range since 2011. We are dedicated to welcoming new shooters and leading the industry in shooting sports, having assisted over 750,000 target shooters. We offer full-service gunsmithing and extensive training courses with a large alumni base. Our core values are Helpful, Smart, Professional, Passionate, and Driven to Grow. This position will involve training at an established location until a new store opens. The Range Guide acts as the primary point of contact for customers, handling transactions, performing range safety officer duties, and participating in special events and leagues, with the goal of providing an exceptional customer experience that encourages repeat business and referrals.

Requirements

• High school diploma
• Experience in retail sales or customer service preferred
• Firearms proficiency and basic knowledge a plus
• Ability to obtain NRA Range Safety Officer certification, NRA Pistol Trainer certifications, and Red Cross First Aid certification (Shoot Smart will assist with necessary certifications)
• Excellent customer service skills and strong persuasion abilities
• Proven ability to operate a cash register
• Experience or training in the safe operation, storage, and troubleshooting of firearms
• Computer literacy
• Ability to lift 25 lbs or more and standing for long durations
• Demonstrate the five core values of Shoot Smart
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Responsibilities

• Learn and proficiently operate the point of sale system while demonstrating excellent customer service skills
• Directly sell lane rental, firearm rental, shooting accessories, and retail items
• Guide customers through the Shoot Smart experience by helping them have a safe, fun time
• Maintain range safety and ensure compliance with all policies
• Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the range by completing all tasks assigned by supervisors in a timely and efficient manner
