About The Position

The Wild Animal Horse Refuge is seeking a Ranch Hand to assist with maintenance, fencing, field and hay work. This is a full-time, mid-level position with a salary range of $60,000 - $75,000. The organization is a non-profit with a positive mission and team environment, dedicated to rescuing and providing ample space for wild mustangs on over 30,000 acres in Craig, Colorado. The role involves daily functions regarding herds/horses, feeding, water and food hauling, diet and nutrition, driving around the property with supplies, performing duties safely, custodial tasks, sustainability efforts, and long-term equipment care. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, determination, a positive attitude, honesty, and a belief in the organization's mission.

Requirements

Valid State Driver's License
Able to lift 75lbs or more
Able to work as a team
Heavy Equipment Knowledge/Experience

Nice To Haves

Electrical-Plumbing-Construction Knowledge
Construction background is preferred
Already located near Craig, Co. is preferred
Married couples would be ideal

Heavy Equipment Utilization (road grader, tractors, skid loader, hay equipment) (20%)
Perform other Job Duties as assigned (10%)
Driving around property with supplies

Building gates/pens
Being available to drive around and place eyes on herds
Being available for scheduled tours
Cleaning the rental house after visitors
Routinely taking pictures on property
Security on property
Communicating on a regular basis to direct supervisor
