About The Position

Riverview Gardens School District scholars, educators and parents continue to strive to be a community of dynamic learners and leaders with a commitment to demonstrating social and civic responsibility. RGSD is committed to supporting the academic, social and emotional needs of all scholars by offering a wide range of learning opportunities, extra-curricular activities, resources and specialized programs. RGSD is home to 12 schools, which serve approximately 5,300 students. Committed to providing excellent programs from early childhood education through high school. RGSD is dedicated to regaining full accreditation under the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). Riverview Gardens is currently working in collaboration with educational institutions and community partners to support the needs of children. Requirements

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree.
  • A teaching certificate substantiating completion of eligibility requirements for secondary education.
  • Successful completion of a background check by Human Resources

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily and long-range planning for classroom or program activities.
  • Display knowledge of the curriculum and subject matter.
  • Use effective teaching techniques, strategies, and skills during lessons.
  • Evaluate student progress.
  • Manage student behavior.
  • Maintain a classroom climate conducive to learning.
  • Provide for individual differences and learning styles.
  • Demonstrate a positive working relationship with the students.
  • Communicate student progress and needs to parents.
  • Engage in positive interpersonal relationships with members of the school staff.
  • Follow policies, regulations, and procedures of the school district.
  • Assume responsibilities outside the classroom.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to professional growth.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal or designee.
