About The Position

The Credit Recovery Teacher serves in a dual-capacity role as an instructional teacher and lead site-based teacher within Career Success Schools' Program. This position is responsible for delivering high-quality, in-person instruction based on individual student needs, consistent contact with students and development of graduation plans, while also functioning as a quasi-site administrator overseeing daily site operations, student progress, compliance, and program effectiveness. The role supports a shared caseload of up to 200 students (across two teachers) who are enrolled in credit recovery courses. These students often require flexible, individualized pathways to graduation due to credit deficiencies, attendance challenges, or other barriers. The position requires strong organizational skills, data-driven decision-making, and the ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders in an on-site environment. About the Credit Recovery Program The Credit Recovery Program is designed to provide students who have disengaged from school or not completed required coursework with an opportunity to earn academic credits toward a high school graduation. Key Characteristics of Credit Recovery: Self-Paced Learning: Students progress through the curriculum at an individualized pace, often through online platforms or blended learning models. Standards-Based Instruction: Courses are aligned to the Az state standards and graduation requirements. Targeted Intervention: Instruction focuses on mastery of previously unmet competencies rather than full course repetition. Flexible Scheduling: Designed to accommodate non-traditional students, including those balancing work, family, or other obligations. High Accountability: Requires consistent monitoring, progress tracking, and intervention to ensure student success. Students in this program often face academic, social-emotional, and attendance-related challenges, requiring staff to provide proactive support, frequent communication, and structured accountability.
