The Ramp Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operational performance, safety, security, and customer satisfaction of the product through effective support and management of delivery areas. This role consistently delivers the highest possible level of customer service and ensures that the airlines' product is delivered consistently to demanding service level standards and on-time performance targets. The supervisor is expected to be proactive in all areas by forward planning and taking responsibility for the job in hand, ensuring the safe and correct control of all resources on the Ramp. They must comply with all Airlines Ground Handling Regulations as well as local Airport Authorities, and ensure the RSMS (internal reporting, billing and statistical system) is accurate and up to date with all deviations from the initial schedule. This role involves checking and amending flight details, inserting and confirming services rendered in RSMS daily, and actively supporting, guiding, and encouraging work colleagues. The supervisor ensures safety and security procedures align with Menzies' Health & Safety Policy Manual and international aviation standards, safeguarding the health, safety, and welfare of staff, customers, and visitors. Professionalism and confidence are key in handling questions, queries, or grievances. The role also involves promoting an open reporting culture, ensuring investigations into incidents/accidents, non-conformities, or service delivery failures are conducted with corrective actions established and maintained. Close collaboration with GSE responsible personnel for effective GSE management, defect reporting, and checks is required, along with preventing Company property abuse. The supervisor assesses relevant training needs, stays informed about required staff skills and qualifications, and is accountable for ongoing day-to-day management to an approved business plan. Improving service delivery through developing a motivated and skilled team, ensuring consistent Human Resources processes and company policies are followed, and closely monitoring absenteeism with improvement plans are also key aspects. Working with airport suppliers & handlers to ensure prescribed service levels are met, establishing and maintaining a safe working environment, and promoting a “Safety First”-culture are essential. Other reasonable duties as requested and promoting a professional image through uniform standards are also part of the role. The supervisor must follow all processes involved in “Triple A” Regulations, understand and operate all equipment safely and correctly, and ensure tasks are performed in accordance with Company and Airlines specific procedures and policies, including attending mandatory training.
