About The Position

Menzies Aviation is seeking a diligent Ramp Agent to help ensure flights run on time. The role involves keeping detailed records of shipped goods, moving baggage and cargo to and from aircraft, and guiding aircraft to and from their gates. Work is performed primarily outdoors in all weather conditions, and includes operating motorized equipment and handling cargo and baggage. The role requires a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.

The Ramp Agent is responsible for taking reasonable care of their own and others’ health, safety, and wellbeing in accordance with company training and workplace safety procedures. The company enforces a Substance Misuse Policy through regular testing and prohibits misuse of alcohol and drugs.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have a high school diploma, GED, or six months of prior ramp agent work experience.
• Must pass all pre-employment testing, including a drug test.
• Must be capable of safely lifting up to 70 lbs. continuously.
• Must be proficient in speaking, reading, and writing English.
• Must have a current driver’s license with no violations over the past five years.
• Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain all required airport and customs badges or seals.

Nice To Haves

• Prior ramp experience.

Responsibilities

• Lift and move cargo and baggage on and off aircraft and transport it between aircraft, airport terminals, and air cargo facilities.
• Bend, stretch, push, pull, stack, and kneel frequently, including in small, confined locations.
• Operate motorized equipment.
• Read and interpret aircraft weight and balance loading instructions, hazardous material identification labels, aircraft loading manifests, and baggage and cargo routing tags.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Take reasonable care of personal and others’ health, safety, and wellbeing while at work and follow provided information, training, and workplace health and safety rules or procedures.
