About The Position

Menzies Aviation is seeking a full-time Ramp Agent to help ensure flights run on time. The role involves maintaining detailed records of shipped goods, moving baggage and cargo to and from aircraft, and guiding aircraft to and from their gates. Work is performed primarily outdoors and may involve all weather conditions.

The position requires frequent lifting and moving of cargo and baggage, operating motorized equipment, and reading aircraft loading instructions and related shipping documents. Ramp Agents are responsible for taking reasonable care of their own and others’ health, safety, and wellbeing and following workplace safety procedures. The company prohibits alcohol and drug misuse and conducts regular testing under its Substance Misuse Policy.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have a high school diploma, GED, or six months of prior ramp agent work experience.
• Must pass all pre-employment testing, including a drug test.
• Must be capable of safely and continuously lifting up to 70 lbs.
• Must be proficient in speaking, reading, and writing English.
• Must have a current driver’s license with no violations over the past five years.
• Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain all required airport and customs badges or seals.

Nice To Haves

• Prior ramp experience.

Responsibilities

• Lift and move cargo and baggage on and off aircraft and transport it between aircraft, airport terminals, and air cargo facilities.
• Bend, stretch, push, pull, stack, and kneel while working in small, confined locations.
• Operate motorized equipment.
• Read and interpret aircraft weight and balance loading instructions, hazardous material identification labels, aircraft loading manifests, and baggage and cargo routing tags.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Take reasonable care of personal and others’ health, safety, and wellbeing in accordance with provided information, training, and workplace health and safety rules or procedures.
