About The Position

As a Ramp Service Agent, you will perform essential ramp service tasks, including loading and unloading baggage and cargo, marshalling aircraft, and providing water service. The role requires a strong focus on safety and attention to detail. This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement with the Transport Workers Union (TWU), which requires joining the union and paying union dues.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability to lift and handle heavy baggage and cargo weighing 50 pounds or more.
• Valid driver's license, which must be maintained throughout employment.
• Strong communication skills for coordinating with team members and flight crews.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends, holidays, and nights.
• Basic mechanical aptitude for operating ground support equipment.
• Ability to pass background checks and comply with airport security regulations.
• Attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols.
• Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in aviation or ground handling operations.
• Familiarity with aircraft types and airport layout.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and protocols in the airport environment.
• Experience operating ground support equipment, such as tugs, belt loaders, and forklifts.

Responsibilities

• Marshall aircraft upon arrival and departure.
• Load and unload baggage and cargo on and off aircraft.
• Safely drive and operate ground support equipment, including belt loaders and tugs, to transport baggage and cargo between the terminal and aircraft.
• Perform ground service functions, including connecting and removing ground power and ground start units and providing water service.
• Perform aircraft pushback, wing walking, and related guide person functions.
• Maintain a secure work environment.
